Calhoun Women’s Center | Future Leaders Scholarship

Why we started the scholarship

Dr. Harmon and Dr. General both come from working-class families and know how much it matters when someone believes in a young person’s future.

They also know that success rarely happens alone. Behind every student who keeps going, there is usually someone who encouraged them, supported them, and invested in them along the way.

At Calhoun Women’s Center, we believe caring for a community means more than providing medical care. It also means investing in the people who will shape its future.

That is why we created the Future Leaders Scholarship.

This scholarship is our way of supporting students in our community who have worked hard, shown character, and want to make the world a better place. We believe in planting seeds now that will bear fruit for years to come.

Scholarship details

At Calhoun Women’s Center, we believe investing in young people is one of the best ways to strengthen our community. Our Future Leaders Scholarship was created to support graduating seniors from Calhoun High School, Sonoraville High School, and Gordon Central High School who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and a sincere desire to make the world a better place.

Each year, we award three $2,000 scholarships — one to a senior from each of the three local high schools.
